Jakob and his wife Elisabeth have committed themselves with great passion to the conception, planning and realization of Jakob’s Esskultur from the very beginning.
With many years of experience in gastronomy, Jakob completed trainings at the tourism school Bad Gleichenberg for cook, waiter, cheese sommelier and hotelier, among others. Subsequently, he held jobs as representative restaurant manager and as restaurant manager in Salzburg, Tyrol and at the lake Attersee.
Most recently, he worked as a sole tenant of the restaurant Union Yacht Club Attersee, while also engaging in the position of maître de cuisine for two years.
During this time, Elisabeth also discovered her passion for gastronomy although she was working, along with her sister Michaela, as a CEO of her family enterprise until a few years ago.
Two factors make her a perfectly attentive hostess at Jakob’s Esskultur: her decades of experience in costumer contact in services and her open nature. Her main goal is for guests to feel comfortable and then wish to return
Our restaurant at Chiemseegasse 5 is located in a bourgeois house, at the end of a charming alley and was first mentioned in a document in 1415.
It is our intention to connect the charming flair of the old town house from the 15th century with modern design, stylish ambience and urban chic.
A little bit off the beaten tourist tracks in the quarter of Kaiviertel, we want to create a space of enjoyment and relaxation for our guests. Whether you are a regular guest or a newcomer, we want you to feel welcome and experience a bit of Jakob’s Esskultur
Our cuisine ranges from Austrian classics to dishes with international influence.
This culinary variety reflects our vision to offer enjoyment for all senses. All our dishes are freshly cooked, of excellent quality, without additives and will enchant you over and over again. Our cuisine is down to earth, traditional and modern, a little audacious and delightful in every kind of way. Our harmonious selection of wines includes Austrian and international wines and leaves almost nothing to be desired. You may enjoy a variety of those by the glass.
